What is a custom Mouthguard?
"Custom MonthGuard" refers to a custom-made mouthguard, although the term itself seems to be a typographical error. Mouthguards are protective devices worn over the teeth to shield them from injury during activities like sports, or to prevent issues like teeth grinding (bruxism) during sleep.
For patients experiencing tooth wear due to nighttime grinding and jaw clenching, your doctor may recommend an occlusal appliance- commonly called a nightguard or bite splint- to help alleviate the complications associated with the condition.
